Byadgi chilies are named after the small town Byadgi, which is located in the Haveri district of Karnataka state in India. It is also referred to as Bedgi at some places in India. Byadgi Chili market is Asia's largest chili market.

Verity of Byadgi chilies

There are mainly two types as follows:

  • Byadgi Dubbi: It will be having a length of 7 to 11 CM, approx. with the pungency of about 12000 SHU to 17000 SHU and fully wrinkle.
